Albion Saddle For Sale : I'm selling a used Albion SLK with Extra Wide Tree. It is listed as eBay item # 300215859212. Included in this sale is the used Albion saddle, and to sweeten the deal, I'm including the used size 24 Albion girth, the used Albion leathers, and the red Albion saddle cover, all that came with the saddle when I bought it. (Sorry, beautiful Friesian is not included in this sale!) This ($3500+ when new) Albion saddle was custom made for me less than a year ago by an Albion certified saddle fitter to fit my wide horse and a “wider” version of me. The adjustment that she did was to attach the flaps from a size 17.5 SLK Albion to the size 18 inch Albion seat. The seat is wide with a tall cantle, moderate twist, front shoulder gusset, extra deep rear gusseted wool flocked panel, and Velcro thigh blocks.. all on an extra wide tree. The saddle is... and looks perfectly made, and no one would know it was a special project unless they looked at the information on the flap (says 17.5) and compared it to a measurement of the saddle (measures 18 inches from the button to the center of the cantle) as shown in the photographs. The measurement from the stirrup bar to the bottom of the skirt/flat, following the seam of the knee pad is 16 inches.

The workmanship on this Albion Saddle is excellent. It was a perfect fit for me a year ago, allowing me a perfectly balanced seat and leg position. My leg fell nicely down from my seat. The large thigh/knee rolls gave me the perfect support to sit, and stick with, my big-moving Friesian, even when doing the extended trop. However, I have since lost weight (good for me!) and the size 18 inch seat no longer fits me. I'm a bit too loose in the saddle now. So, my “loss” could be your gain.

The girth and leathers look like new.

Saddle has always been stored inside my home, and not in the barn, and is in very good shape other than light wear from being used gently when ridden. I take good care of my tack.

I have more photographs of the saddle, and a video of me riding in the saddle. Contact me through eBay for these additional views of the saddle and any questions or additional measurements that you need. "Buy It Now" price is $2750 on eBay with includes the girth and leathers. Saddle is sold "as is". No returns, sorry. I will only accept a Paypal payment or certified check. Please see below for shipping information. Thank you for taking the time to consider this beautiful saddle for purchase.

6. My Trip To Holland - Friday, January 11th : Friday events at the Stallion Inspection included the Third Round of the inspection of the young stallion candiates for approval. They were released inside of a fenced area and allowed to free canter. There was no chasing. The horse had to "show his stuff" on his own. They wanted to see regular, free flowing canter during this stage, among other things. The afternoon then included the stallion auction. Very exciting to watch the bidding go up on these fine young stallions. The evening events included magnificant demonstrations of all the ways that Friesians are asked to perform. Good show!

7. My Trip to Holland - January 12th : Saturday, the 12th - the last day of the Stallion Inspection. Today, the candidates for approval were presented. Their owners were asked to join their young stallions in the arena. They were given flowers and recognition. The young candidates now go to their performance training and testing. The remainder of the day was the competition of the previously approved stallions, by age group. Photos of Fabe 348 start with image # 48 (of 233). Fabe is Tim's sire, so I took quite a few photos of him. I can see that Tim has inherited many of Fabe's qualities.

The winners of the groups were then all brought together for the final championship. The crowd cheered loudly for the favorites - old and new, and the final winner was Haitse. He is the new Champion Stallion.

8. My Trip To Holland - the last days : Sunday, the 13th had to be a day of rest. I was exhausted. Jan rode Jaike and I took some photos. Miek went shopping and we had a very nice dinner. Monday, the 14th, we went to the village of Alkmaar - a very old village in Holland with small streets and fun shops. Miek also took me to meet her mother, and then her sister and her husband. We also visited the barn from which Karolien came from. This was pretty cool as it was, still, the traditional style of "Dutch farmhouse". I enjoyed seeing the large wooden columns and the inside of the thatched roof. Tuesday, it was an early rise to then drive to the Schiphol airport to begin the long journey and process to return home. Going through Philadelphia was very tedious. I got sniffed, pawed, examined and microscoped (my driver's license). Then I had the seven hour wait for the flight to Elmira, finished off with my luggage NOT showing up in Elmira. But I got home safe and sound, to a beautiful bouquet of roses. Very nice.

FHANA World Friesian Horse Show : Greetings Friesian Fans..... Here are photos that I was able to take from the cheap seats at the FHANA World Show in Springfield Ohio. Half the photos are from Thursday night, and the other half are of the Friday events. I think I only took one photo of the dressage riders, as I did video taping of their rides. Unfortunatly, the schedule was so far off (for example...really wanted to watch Pas De Deux...and the times got changed so often that we spectators didn't know what was going on.) But, I got some fun photos of the various abilities of the wonderful Friesian horse. Stallions Nanning, Mintse and Fridse were presented for our delight.

If you see a photo about which you would like more information... or some better "enhancing, cropping, eye clean up, etc.", please email me at galimages@stny.rr.com.

If you would like to see my Friesians, please visit my website at http://www.galesequinefacility.com/our_friesian_page.htm .

THANKS ALL. I look forward to next year's FHANA WORLD SHOW. The Champions Center at the Clark County Fairgrounds was a wonderful show grounds for the Friesians. I hope that the show returns there, and that more Friesian owners and horses will be able to attend next year to make the show even more grand and fun than it was this year! GO FHANA. GOOD JOB EVERYONE.
