Sunday, the 13th had to be a day of rest. I was exhausted. Jan rode Jaike and I took some photos. Miek went shopping and we had a very nice dinner. Monday, the 14th, we went to the village of Alkmaar - a very old village in Holland with small streets and fun shops. Miek also took me to meet her mother, and then her sister and her husband. We also visited the barn from which Karolien came from. This was pretty cool as it was, still, the traditional style of "Dutch farmhouse". I enjoyed seeing the large wooden columns and the inside of the thatched roof. Tuesday, it was an early rise to then drive to the Schiphol airport to begin the long journey and process to return home. Going through Philadelphia was very tedious. I got sniffed, pawed, examined and microscoped (my driver's license). Then I had the seven hour wait for the flight to Elmira, finished off with my luggage NOT showing up in Elmira. But I got home safe and sound, to a beautiful bouquet of roses. Very nice.

Jan rides Jaike. This is Beike's daughter. She is taller than Beike, but there are many similarities.
